Rainbow Daruma Art Pin

£10.00

In support of the LGBT+ community, I’ve designed a special rainbow Daruma pin you can wear with pride! This pin features a seven-colour rainbow design including the pink stripe that was part of the original pride flag, as well the Japanese kanji for ‘Love.’ (愛)

£1 from every rainbow Daruma pin sold will be donated to The Trevor Project to help save the lives of LGBT+ youth.

The Trevor Project

The Trevor Project is an American non-profit organization founded in 1998 focused on suicide prevention efforts among lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and questioning (LGBT+) youth.

The Trevor Lifeline is the only nationwide, around-the-clock crisis and suicide prevention helpline for LGBT+ youth in the United States. The lifeline is a free and confidential service from counselors trained to listen without judging, and can refer callers to supportive local organisations and groups.

What is a daruma?

Are you studying for an exam? Writing a book? Maybe you’re hoping for a personal best in a race? Whatever your goal, a daruma can help keep you motivated.

The daruma (だるま) is a traditional, handmade Japanese doll full of centuries-old symbolism associated with perseverance and good luck. Sold with two blank eyes, the first is drawn in by the owner when a goal is set, and the second eye is filled in when the goal is achieved.

With a permanent marker, you can draw directly on this pin to set your goal and wear it on a jacket or bag as a constant reminder of what you want to achieve. When you’re successful, you can continue to wear it with pride!
